It was a perfect sun drenched fall day for a party at the Osoyoos Sailing Club and to say thank you to the many volunteers that make the Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society (OLWQS) among the most active and vibrant in the the south Okanagan.

Society President Birgit Arnstein thanked all the volunteers in attendance and mentioned many others by name that were unable to make it to the celebration. She also thanked the many donors and organizations that work closely with the OLWQS.

All those in attendance got to board the society’s new upgraded pontoon boat and hear about all the types monitoring devices that are used to measure the quality of Osoyoos Lake water and also to test for invasive species such as Zebra and Quagga mussels.

OLWQS hopes to make the volunteer appreciation day an annual event.
